Ok – so now be know ALL about blogging, but expect we’ll learn a whole lot more as we go along. We’re very new to this form of communication but we’re assured by our chums at West End Lane Books that we’ll be addicted in no time. Hmmm … I’ve only just caught up with the 20th century and email, so we’ll have to wait and see about that.
The Queen’s Park Book Festival 2012 launched in grand style on Friday night in the heart of Queen’s Park at the QPARA quiz night and goodness, what a fine old time we all had – despite the Rob Roy picture clue which was a complete red herring (if you ask me)! For anyone who doesn’t know about it yet, the QP Book Festival is set to take place over the weekend of 19 & 20 May. Here’s a taster of some of the great line-up of authors who’ll be there:
Alex Bellos, Melissa Benn, Justin Cartwright, Simon Day, Maggie Gee, Linda Grant, Owen Jones, John Lanchester, Marina Lewycka, Kate Summerscale … AND MANY MORE.
Tickets and the full programme will be on sale at QP Books from 23 April, priced at the knocked-down, bargain-basement price of just £15 for the full weekend – which must be bought in advance – OR £10/£8 concession for each day, either on the weekend or in advance.. Kids under 18 are free and we’ve LOADS of free events for them including Robert Muchamore and Sophie McKenzie.
You can also become a FESTIVAL FRIEND for just £25 which gives YOU a weekend ticket and gives QPARA a £10 donation to help keep the Festival affordable for everyone. Sign up to be a FF at the bookshop.
